
C. James Judson retired from an executive post at Eagle River, wireless pioneer Craig McCaw’s investment firm, in 2004. But, in his retirement, he’s continued to play a role in a multitude of companies.
By his own count, Judson is currently a board member for 10 companies — Port Blakely Cos., Garrett & Ring Management, Welco Lumber Corp., Sonata Capital Group Inc., Joshua Green Corp., GigOptix Inc., Eden Rock Communications, MediaCast, Airbiquity Inc., and TSK America. He also sits on the boards of four nonprofit organizations — the Washington Athletic Club, the Pacific Science Center, the Pacific Northwest Ballet Foundation and the Seattle Institute for Biomedical and Clinical Research.
Asked about the number of board commitments, Judson said, “I don’t have a job. Most people who are board members are practicing lawyers or a president of some company, so I’m none of those things. When you add up all this stuff, it’s a half-time job.” Read more
